SF USA Scholarship News - US Information Evening held at Forthbank Stadium

Sporting Futures USA would like to thank our current US based Student Athletes for taking the time to come over to Forthbank Stadium in Stirling this evening to speak about their experiences of playing and studying in the United States.

We were joined by five current student athletes tonight and they talked candidly about their experiences of leaving their friends and families behind in Scotland in search of a bright new beginning in their fledging football careers.

A wide and varied list of topics were discussed and the boys certainly made sure that they gave a very accurate portrayal of what it takes to combine full time studies with full time football.

Guest Speakers -

  • Jamie Cleland - University of Maine at Fort Kent, Maine
  • Taylor Gordon - University of Houston Victoria, Texas
  • Ross Alexander - Grand View University, Iowa
  • Chris Paton - Northern Illinois University, Illinois
  • Ryan Murphy - King University, Tennessee

The event was primarily aimed at providing information for young footballers, who we have recent identified as being top class candidates for our Class of 2015 Program.

It was a terrific opportunity for the boys and their families to come along and find out all about the US collegiate system and we were extremely impressed by the amount of interest there was on the night.

Once again, on behalf of all the staff here at Sporting Futures USA, a huge thank you for everyone who took the time to come out on a lovely summers evening to attend our conference.
